Doctor of Medicine and Masters in Medical Education Degree Candidates.

UI President Barbara Wilson and J. Brooks Jackson, vice president for medical affairs and the Tyrone D. Artz Dean of the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, will deliver welcome messages to students. Christopher S. Cooper, senior associate dean for medical education, will give introductory remarks. Erin Sullivan, of Dubuque, Iowa, will be the student speaker, and Cate Dicharry, Writing and Humanities Program director, will provide the commencement address. Jane L. Miller, professor and director of the Master in Medical Education Program, will present the graduates of the Master in Medical Education Program. Graduate Nathen Spitz, of Osage, Iowa, and 2023 recipient of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, will administer the Hippocratic Oath. Jessica Zuzga-Reed, president of the Iowa Medical Society; David Asprey, associate dean for medical education and professional programs; Amal Shibli-Rahhal, associate dean for student affairs; and James Choi, assistant dean for student affairs, also will participate in the commencement ceremony. 

Doors open one hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Due to limited seating, students will receive an allotment of tickets for their guests. There is no reserved seating. For specific seating accommodation requests, please contact Annette Griffin.
