Welcome to Iowa City! We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with parents, friends, and special guests who have supported our graduates along the way.
Ceremonies will take place at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and Hancher Auditorium, two iconic venues in our vibrant campus community.

Ceremony Locations
All collegiate commencement ceremonies will be held at:
- Carver-Hawkeye Arena
- Hancher Auditorium
Each college hosts its own ceremony with speakers and degree presentations. Graduates who RSVP and attend will have their names read and displayed.

Find a Ceremony or Event
The Ceremonies page contains all collegiate commencement ceremonies and other graduation related celebrations. You can search for future ceremonies by changing the session selection on the filter.
Guests with Disabilities or Limited Mobility
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events.
- An American Sign Language interpreter will be present at every ceremony.
- All ceremonies will be livestreamed with captions enabled.
- All venues will have accessible parking and seating options.
Accessibility Accommodations
If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact your ceremony's commencement coordinator.
Ceremony Livestreams and Recordings
All ceremonies will be livestreamed with captions at their scheduled time on the University of Iowa YouTube Channel.
- Bookmarking the college’s ceremony page is recommended for easy access.
- Links to the livestream will be posted in the “Livestream” section of each ceremony page approximately one week before the event.
- Students who RSVP and attend will have their names read and displayed during the livestream.
Missed the Livestream?
Recordings will be available on the University of Iowa YouTube channel after each ceremony begins.
Helpful Information for Guests
Guests thinking about attending a commencement ceremony should keep the following items in mind.
Tickets
Tickets are not required for graduates or guests.
Graduates must submit their RSVP by the deadline and attend their ceremony to be individually recognized on stage
Ceremony Guest Parking
Complimentary parking is available for all commencement ceremonies.
Traffic will be heavier than usual—give yourself extra time.
Allowed/Prohibited Items
Please review the policies for your ceremony's venue before attending:
Weapons and alcohol are not permitted at any ceremony.
