Script Templates
Complete the Script template for your ceremony by the assigned deadline. Changes to scripts will not be accepted the week before ceremonies because campus partners need adequate time to prepare for their roles.

Ceremony Script Best Practices
- Submit one script document (not multiple versions).
- Do not change formatting or stage directions. Templates are designed for consistency across ceremonies.
- Verify accuracy of names, titles, and all details.
- Avoid abbreviations unless widely recognized (e.g., PhD, MD). Spell out specialized terms.
- Ensure the script reflects the final program order.
- Submit in editable format (Word document) to allow for last-minute adjustments if needed.
Additional Info for Graduates and Guests
The commencement team has created templates for the Additional Info for Graduates and Guests section on ceremony pages. These templates give graduates and guests an idea of what to expect at their ceremony.
Please complete the Additional Information Template for your ceremony. This is essential because it allows us to carry information over from semester to semester (e.g., fall to fall, spring to spring) and helps us direct students to accurate, ceremony-specific details on the website.

Carver-Hawkeye Arena Platform Maps and Processional and Recessional
All Carver-Hawkeye Arena ceremonies must use the Platform Maps template. Six layout options are available; select the one that best fits your ceremony.
Templates serve as a guide and may be adjusted as needed. Enter the full name of each platform party member next to their corresponding seat number and leave unused seats blank.

Carver-Hawkeye Arena Platform Party Processional and Recessional
The Office of the President has requested that all faculty processionals and recessionals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena follow the same route for consistency. This applies to platform party only; students will be seated before the ceremony begins.
